Reopen our borders now-Minority to Prez

The Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has called on the President and the Interior Minister to take urgent steps towards the reopening of land borders in Ghana.

He wants the government to reopen our borders to allow the free flow of persons and goods across ECOWAS and the rest world.

Addressing the parliamentary press, corps on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, the Minority Leader noted that, even though post covid, the country is not out of the woods, it is of the essence the country returns to normalcy.

According to the leader, there can be no justification for the continued closure of Ghana’s land borders.

He stressed the need for proactive measures to be taken by the chair of ECOWAS who is also the President of the Republic.

“There can be no justification for the continuous closure of our borders. Therefore, as a Minority, it is our call to the President who is also the Chair of ECOWAS to do the needful to allow and facilitate the free movement between our neighbours and the rest of the world,” he declared.
