The Member of Parliament for New Edubiase constituency, Adams Abdul Salam has slammed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government accusing it of neglect and discrimination against the residents in the area.
Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the MP said the constituency has not had its fair share of the national cake.
He is alleging that since President Akufo-Addo took over as President, not a single road has been constructed in the constituency.
He told the host that roads in the constituency are in a deplorable state and affecting the livelihoods of the people.
He said farmers are struggling to transport their farm produce due to the deplorable nature of the roads in the constituency.
He asserted that “the constituents deserve better. They deserve better roads. They deserve access to electricity and education infrastructure. But for more than five years, there has not been a single road constructed by this administration. This is affecting the farmers and residents. It is depriving them of their livelihood,” he added.
On the issue of education, he accused the government of abandoning several education infrastructure projects started by the previous NDC government.
He said the government has not prioritized education in the community and is not improving access to quality education and infrastructure.
He noted that as a community that contributes to the cocoa economy, they deserve better and the government must address these challenges.
