Five persons have died in an accident that occurred at Akim Birimso in the Eastern region.
Report gathered by Rainbowradioonline.com indicates that seven other persons have sustained injuries.
They are currently receiving care at the Hawa Memorial Hospital at Osiem.
Confirming the accident, the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, said it occurred about 3:55am Monday dawn.
The accident involved a Toyota Hiace Mini bus with registration number AK 1145-21 with 13 persons on board and an articulated truck with registration number GT3799-16.
The bus reporter veered from its lane and crashed into the articulate truck.
The mini bus was driving from Kumasi heading towards Accra whiles the Articulator truck loaded with pumping machine headed Kumasi from Tema with three escort vehicles.
Five persons died on the spot, whereas seven male occupants on board the Toyota Hiace have been rushed to the Hawa Memorial Saviour Hospital for medical care.
The bodies of the five deceased persons have been deposited at the Kibi government hospital for preservation and autopsy.
