Some traders deal in the sale of trunks, chop boxes, mattresses, and other items needed by form one senior high school students have expressed joy at the rose in sales.
The traders at Kantamanto told Rainbow Radio’s Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi that sales are booming and they are making more money.
According to them, this period is their ‘Christmas Season’ because sales have increased to an unimaginable level.
One of the traders said, “sales are booming. Sales are booming and it is booming ‘sokoo’. We are grateful to President Akufo-Addo for introducing free SHS. Our sales have shot up and we are grateful to him”.
Another trader said, ” the sales this morning are going well. We appreciate the President for introducing the free SHS because more students are going to SHS and as traders, we are making more money”.
The traders were hopeful sales will continue till the Easter period.
Another trader who was previously dealing in second-hand clothes revealed he has suspended that trade and invested in the sale of the trunks and chop boxes as well as mattresses because it is the season for such items.
According he has not regretted his decision to venture into the jew business because the profit he is making was reasonable.
