The Ghana National Fire Service has announced that it took them more than three hours to douse the fire that destroyed structures and properties at the makeshift market at Takoradi.

He revealed they had no choice but to connect several hoses before they were able to bring the fire under control.
“We could not have access to the market and so we had to connect several hoses before we were able to bring the fire under control. We received a call at 2:18 am and arrived at the scene at 2:22 am. We managed to bring the fire under control by 5:35 am,” he revealed.
