President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed worry that a huge chunk of state resources is used in settling Chieftaincy disputes.
According to him, this always hurts national development.
He, therefore, charged all stakeholders to ensure that these disputes are eliminated or dealt with once and for all.
“Chieftaincy disputes take [the] majority of National Security resources. We all know what is happening in many parts of the country. We must all work hard to end some of these disputes.”
Meanwhile, he has disclosed that the government is seeking an increment in the number of judicial committees and regional house sittings to hasten the adjudication of outstanding disputes.
He posited that this will reduce the number of chieftaincy disputes in the country and bring about peace and development.
