A second-year Biological Sciences student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has allegedly been murdered by his friend who was indebted to him.
Reports indicate that the student had gone to the suspect, who has been identified as Emmanuel Boateng to collect disobey he owed him.
But he (suspect) lured the student into a bush and allegedly killed him to avoid paying the debt.
The incident happened on Friday (April 22, 2022) at Sewua in the Ashanti.
The suspect has since been arrested and assisting the Police with their investigation.
The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Kwaku Adu Gyamfi.
Information gathered by Rainbow Radio revealed that the suspect allegedly clubbed Adu Gyamfi to death and stole his mobile phone (iPhone 11 pro max).
The Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Godwin Ahianyo confirming the story stated that the Police received information on April 22, 2022, that a body was lying in a bush at Sewua at around 5:30 pm.
He said a team of officers together with the assembly member of the area and some traditional leaders went to the scene.
Upon arriving at the scene, they saw a male adult dressed in a red T-shirt and blue trousers.
He told the Daily Graphic that the decades has been identified as a level 200 student of KNUST, who was lying dead.
He further disclosed that a swollen neck and blood oozing from the nostrils and a stick suspected to have been used to commit the crime lying about 200 metres away from the body were discovered after an injection had been conducted on the body.
It was further discovered that the suspect visited the deceased at his house at Esaso-Kwablafo near Esreso and they both went out together.
But he (deceased) was not seen again until the body was discovered.
However, the deceased did not return until his body was found later in the bush.
