A female teacher at Ahafoman Basic School at Goaso in the Ahafo Region has been dragged to court after she allegedly dipped the hand of a nine-year-old class 3 pupil in hot water.
The teacher is said to have carried out the act after the minor had confessed to stealing her Ghc2.
Reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Atiewi Mohammed, said the minor told the teacher she was hungry and used the money to buy food.
However, the teacher, Madam Serwaa, 33, got infuriated and boiled water and allegedly dipped the hand of the minor in it.
Further details revealed that the teacher after the act kept the victim against his will for three weeks without sending him to the hospital.
It took the intervention of a good samaritan who informed the parents of the minor about the incident.
Her lawyer had asked the court to grant her bail because she was a lactating mother.
The presiding judge at the Goaso Circuit Court, Charles Kwesi Acheampong granted her bail to the tune of Ghc18,000 with 4 sureties with one to be justified.
