You can’t run away from the misapplication of 2.4 billion covid-19 fund-Dr. Apaak to Prez

May 1, 2022

A Deputy Ranking Member on the Education Committee of Parliament Dr. Clement Apaak has maintained that there is no justification for the government to use 2.4 billion as Covid-19 related expenditure for only Senior High Schools.

He noted that the Finance Minister struggled in explaining how the money was used when he (Dr. Apaak) asked about the spending.

EC unable to pay electricity bills, outstanding bills for logistics, administrative releases delayed -Senior Staff

The MP who represents constituents in the Builsa South constituency is wondering why it should cost the nation 1.9 billion for our children and teaching staff to go back to school and stay safe during the peak of the virus.

The MP asserted that the government has refused to account for this expenditure and the Minority will continue to expose them.

The lawmaker stated that the government misapplied the money and wants to falsely claim it was used for covid-19 expenditure in our secondary schools.

“Folks, no way in excess of 2 billion (2.3 billion Bawumia/2.4 billion Apaak) billion could have been used for Covid-19 related expenses for ONLY SHS as the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta struggled to explain when I asked for an explanation for the additional expenditure on fSHS on July 21st 2021 on the floor of Parliament.

How can it cost 1.9 billion to ensure that ALL our children and teaching staff went back to school and stayed in safely as we now know ( NADAA SoNa 2022). Yet Ken Ofori-Atta suggested a year earlier (2021) that it cost over 2 billion to fund Covid-19 expenditure for ONLY SHS?

Stay tuned for another twist to this matter. We will keep at it till the end of time. The truth must stand!

Enjoy my banter with the host of a news programme on the matter of expenditure on fSHS from 2017 to 2021.”
