A defeated constituency coordinator hopeful in the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency polls, Alhaji Ibrahim has slammed the leadership of the party over his defeat.
The defeated aspirant garnered only 13 votes out of the accused the leadership of the party at the constituency level of orchestrating his defeat.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he alleged that some names were expunged from the register used for the polls.
He stated that the grassroots of the party are disappointed, and if care was not taken, the party would not be able to break the 8-year-jinx.
He said there is an attempt to oust the current MP lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo and several delegates suspected to be her supporters had their names removed from the register.
”600 supporters of lawyer Adwoa Safo have been removed from the constituency register which was used for the polls. This is going to create serious issues for the NPP in the constituency,” he added.
Meanwhile, the constituency Secretary Ansah Larbi has rubbished the claims by the defeated candidate.
According to him, the defeated candidate was only speaking out of pain.
He asked him to stop using the media in addressing his concerns and come to the party using internal party structures.
