One person shot following an attack on Chief’s Palace at Sekyikrom

Tension is currently brewing at Sekyikrom in the Nsawam Adoagyri Municipality of the Eastern Region after.one person was shot in the leg.

The victim was shot after some  people attacked the Palace of the Apagyahene, Oheneba Nana Asante Okorie I on Sunday afternoon.

Rainbowradioonline.com gathered that the attackers, sho severally in the Palace, and also destroyed several properties in the room such as television, doors, and others.

According to reports, the Apagyahene Oheneba Nana Asante Okorie I and others had to ran for their lives.

The case has been reported to the Nsawam police command.

Oheneba Nana Asante Okorie I explained that the Head of the Family for Boadi [Abusuapanyin], Appiah Adu Gyamfi called to tell him that he was expecting some visitors and as such he would want the Apagyahene host them in his palace.

While hosting the visitors, the chief ordered for food to be prepared for his visitors.

He later left to purchase some items for his visitors at the Nsawam market.

But while on his way, received a call informing him that some people, led by the Manwerehene of Sekyikrom, Nana Takyi, alias “Double”, who allegedly work with the National Security and the Queen Mother of Sekyikrom Nana Agyakwabea Acheamponmaa III,  had stormed the palace.

They allegedly came to the place in the company of uninformed and armed police officers who were wielding AK47 raffle.

They allegedly started shooting sporadically.

The chief has asked the National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah and the Inspector-General of Police George Akuffo-Dampare to probe the matter.
