An 18-year-old girl, identified only as Mary, has been swept away by flood waters at Tesano in Accra after a heavy downpour on Sunday.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl was trying to salvage her slippers, which fell into a small drain.
But she was unfortunately swept away by the flood.
The girl is reported to have been lying down when a vehicle stopped to buy corn from her.
She served the person, but while going back to sit down, her slippers fell off into the gutter, and in an attempt to retrieve them, she was swept away by the flood.
She was later found dead in the drain after the rains.
