Eight firemen sustained injuries after the tender they were onboard got involved in an accident.
The tender was responding to a distress call in Obuasi yesterday, Sunday, June 5, 2022.
They were responding to a fire outbreak in the Obuasi suburb of Kyekyewere.
Rainbowradioonline.com gathered that the driver of the fire tender was unaware of the construction of a bridgehead of him.
The details indicate that the driver ran into a heap of chippings in an attempt to swerve, lost control and drove into a storey building.
According to accounts by some eyewitnesses, the fire tender somersaulted.
Two of the injured firemen have since been treated and discharged.
According to the Ashanti Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO), Mr Henry Giwah, the remaining six officers are in critical condition.
