A businessman who was arrested for allegedly attempting to use his daughter for money rituals has been remanded.
Evans Kwakye Kyekyeku was remanded by the District Court in Accra (Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit) into police custody.
Oppong, a machine operator, 47, was arrested on June 3 after he was exposed by the spiritualist whom he had visited to kill his 11-year-old daughter.
The court was presided over by Her Worship Ama Adomako Kwakye.
The judge remanded him after the prosecution prayed for him to be remanded.
He is on a charge of Preparation to commit crime to wit; Murder and his plea has been reserved.
The Prosecutor Chief Inspector Richard Amoah told the court that the accused was arrested on June 3 and due to the weekend, a full investigation commenced today.
The lawyer for the accused, lawyer Ralph Agyepong, did not oppose the request by the prosecution but prayed the court to allow him to have conference with him.
Her worship Ama Adomako Kwakye remanded him into police custody and directed the police to allow his lawyer to him on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 am and 5 pm.
The case has been adjourned to June 20, 2022.
