A bridge linking Cape Coast to Twifo Praso in the Central Region has collapsed.
A section if the road caved in, making it difficult for motorists to ply the road.
Residents say the bridge collapsed because a river known as Surowi had overflowed its banks.
The bridge serves as a link for commuters from Cape Coast to Jukwa and also from Dunkwa-On-Offin
This website gathered that tourists who were heading to the Kakum National Park were stranded and had to return to their various destinations.
Aside from that, a building in which the CEO of Exim Bank also flooded.
The road linking Cape Coast to Ankaful was also flooded.
The situation left commuters and motorists stranded.
Officials from National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Ghana Highways Authority are at the scene assessing the situation to find a temporary solution to the problem.
