Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm in a special Fathers day event organized by Accra City Hotel in collaboration with Rainbow Radio, he said fathers must hold the family together.

To him, fathers are not only expected to provide food on the table or be financially responsible for their families but they need to be the family head.

He explained that fathers must also ensure that their children get the best of care and guidance so they don’t go astray.

“The father should also set standards for the family. Be responsible for the upkeep and upbringing of their children so they will grow up and become responsible children.”

He warned, “without these responsibilities, the father cannot be appreciated”.

He added that if fathers want to be appreciated, then they have to be responsible.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Door Master and Pobiman Paint Depot, Kwadwo Botchwey described the father as the leader who must provide leadership.

He asked fathers to be responsible and models for society.

“We need fathers who will set good examples. We need fathers who will role models for society. We need fathers who will shape the mindset of society positively. That is what the role of the father should be,” he added.

He said like every leader, fathers must show good examples for their children the father’s role in the family can also influence their partners to

He asserted that when fathers bond with the family and provide leadership, the family does not drift apart.

Contributing to.the discussion, Kwabena Agyapong said fathers must be conscious of the legacies they leave behind.

Fathers he added must provide security for their families as well as a haven for them to speak freely.

Providing security for the child and the family is a big responsibility every father must endeavor to achieve, he stressed.
