One of the aspirants who intends to become the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, lawyer Justin Kodua has asked to see the album that would be used for the delegates’ conference expected to be held on July 16, 2022.
According to him, this will enable him or all the aspirants to have access to the album early, go through it and make sure that everything in it is intact to prevent any doubt.
“For every election, we all know is a process, it is not an event and every stage of it is very key if you want to have a free, fair and transparent election and I raise certain issues to them that as aspirant I need to know or have access to the album very early so that at least I can go through and be convince that every information in it is solid and fair” he stressed.
He said he was okay when the group of panellists who vetted him indicated to him that there were some hitches with some of the albums from certain constituencies and that he was promised to have the album latest by the 29th of June, 2022 at least some two weeks grace period to go through the album and be fully convinced that every information in it is accurate.
Lawyer Kodua again raised issues about the external branches of the party saying, ”aspirants need to be certain about the numbers and know those who are to come and vote personally and those who will delegate others to vote on their behalf (proxy voting) on the day of the event”.
He said that aspirants would not allow anyone whose name has not been captured on the album to vote on another person’s behalf.
On the Issue of TESCON, he said the incumbent General Secretary Mr. John Boadu indicated earlier that it would be one representative from every institution to vote or anyone who has been delegated by the president to vote on his or her behalf.
Meanwhile, lawyer Justin Kodua was confident he would win the General Secretary bid.
According to him, the vetting committee was happy with the way he delivered answers to the questions and promised to support any of the aspirants who would emerge victorious after the delegates’ conference.
