Bus drivers and residents at Kumasi Alabar in the Ashanti Region, have passionately appealed to the Ghana Police Service to come out with combat measures to fight the notorious robbers.
The drivers and residents complained bitterly that the rise and existence of these robbers is a threat to their lives and businesses.
They disclosed that these robbers attack them along the Bolgatanga, Tamale and Naverongo roads.
For this reason, they want the Police Service to adopt measures to help deal with the robbers.
Chairman for the New Ghana Transport Union located at Kumasi Alabar, Alhaji Issah ‘Soldier’, both drivers and passengers have been harassed by armed robbers on the highways, and in the process, some have lost their lives.
He also revealed that such robberies usually occur on Sundays and Mondays, especially, at night.
Meanwhile, the Zongo Divisional Police command has assured that security would be tight to protect drivers and people of Alabar.
