Thousands of Ghanaians joined Arise Ghana’s demonstration on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, over what they described as the worsening economic conditions in the country.
Dubbed “Krom AyƐ Hye” demonstration, the protesters massed up at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange to protest the hardship they were facing.
One of such demonstrators Thomas Kofi Acquah in his analysis blamed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the failures of President Akufo-Addo.
He posited that President Akufo-Addo had been a failure because the man who was touted as the economic messiah failed him.
”Bawumia is the one who has caused Nana Addo’s downfall. He is the one who has made Nana Addo Ghana’s worst President. President Akufo-Addo is the worst President ever because Dr. Bawumia is his economist. He is the one who advised him on economic issues,” he said.
”Where is Bawumia in all this economic mess? When the party was in opposition, he held economic lectures and claimed to be providing solutions, but today, he is nowhere to be found,” he added.
Thomas Acquah posited that the President lacks sound advisors because if he ”had sound advisors, Ghana would not be thinking of building a national cathedral. You make a personal pledge and then turn around to use state resources to build the cathedral. Nana Addo has shocked me. He is a disappointment and a failure,” he stressed.
”Nana Addo has destroyed the country, and we are here to press home our demand and ask him to listen to us. He is not a listening President. But I am sure he will be moved by what we are doing today,” he concluded.
