A lecturer at the faculty of law and governance at the Kings University College, Professor Kwame Agyenim Boateng, has declared that it was courageous for President Akufo-Addo to seek a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The lecturer says it was becoming economically dangerous for our leaders to mortgage our resources for loans.
Professor Agyenim Boateng said going to the IMF is not a bad thing, especially when you are a member.
The public debt of the country, he lamented was at an alarming rate, and the decision to go to the IMF came late but courageous.
He has advised the government to admit that the economy is in a mess and apologise for taking Ghanaians for granted and stop.
In his view, it would be insulting for assigns of the government to take Ghanaians for granted.
”Ghanaians are not fools and stupid. When you look at the way they came into office, it should tell you that they are facing their own tune. It is obvious that the NPP came into office through lies and peddled falsehoods just to win power. Ghanaians are wise now and come 2024, Ghanaians will advise themselves.”
