The Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak, has joined the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in calling the Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamoah, to protect persons his predecessor, Daniel Domelevo, recover over GHc66 million.
The Coalition expressed worry that nothing has happened to persons, that the monies were recovered since the new Auditor-General took over office.
Leader of the Coalition Nan Afadzinu made the remarks stating that the former Auditor-General recovered the monies and it was important that the new one take action against the persons involved.
The Coalition further threatened to take action should their call be ignored.
Reacting to the call, Dr. Clement Apaak commended the Coalition for the courage and the call on the new AG to do what was right.
Dr. Apaak said it was unethical, illegal and unprofessional on the part of Johnson Akuamoah to refuse to do his work by surcharging the persons behind the monies recovered.
He said ”Kudos to the CSOs for calling out Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu the AG. He has refused to recover public funds as Domelevo did; allowed Kroll and Associates to walk away with USD 100 million as soon as he took over; failed to sanction officers Domelevo recovered Ghc60 million from”.
