The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations has issued a statement in reaction to the strike action declared by the four pre-tertiary unions.
The statement said the government has taken note of the 20% demand in the Cost of Living-Allowance (COLA).
The Ministry said the government was committed to engaging with the aggrieved unions on the matter.
It has therefore admonished the unions to call off the strike as they get to negotiate with the government on the matter.
The Ministry also announced it will begin negotiations with the teachers on July 12, 2022.
