The Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) has announced that the shuttle service from Accra-Nsawam will resume soon.
The company says plans were far advanced to resume the shuttle service after it successfully resumes the Accra-Tema service.
This, was disclosed by the Public Relations Office for GRCL, Mr. Randy Mould, in an interview on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.
The Accra-Tema passenger train service on Monday, July 18, resumed full operations after it was temporarily suspended for rehabilitation.
The GRCL disclosed that it resumed operations after it was granted approval by the Ghana Railway Development Authority (GRDA).
It said the Company successfully addressed some technical challenges, conducted a series of test runs and carried out a final joint inspection on July 7 to ascertain the suitability of the passenger service.
The PRO said so far it has been encouraging but urged the public to patronize their services since it was cheaper, reliable, safer and punctual.
He added that the GRCL, has adopted measures that will ensure that the shuttle services will last and not be halted.
