Teachers at the Jomsco Primary and Junior High School in Assin Fosu, have threatened to strike if open defecation currently ongoing in the school does not stop.
The teachers and management told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that residents in the area have turned the school into a place of convenience.
The headmaster of the school, Mr.John Aikins, disclosed that the students have to clean the mess left behind by persons who come to the compound to defecate.
He said almost every, they come to find faeces in the classrooms, students’ desks, under the tables of teachers and sometimes in their cupboards.
He pleaded with authorities to provide the school with security or install street lights at the school to help prevent people from defecating and defacing their school.
