Africa Schools Sanitation Foundation has handed over its first renovated urinal at Tutu Methodist Junior High School to the school authorities.
The renovation works took 9 days to complete, the non-governmental organization has disclosed.
The short handing-over ceremony brought joy and excitement to both the students and the management of the school.
They extended their gratitude to the organization for what they have done for the school.
The organization is currently appealing to individuals, organizations, corporate bodies and other groups to support the initiative aimed at renovating all dilapidated facilities in our schools across the country.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization, Kwabena Antwi Bosiako, a renowned broadcaster, and communication specialist said the government could not do it all hence Ghanaians both home and abroad should support.
“We are appealing to every Ghanaian home and abroad, businesses, industries, associations, International organisations, churches, and wealthy individuals to support the foundation’s #communallabour campaign in any form they can to remove all dirty toilets and urinals and renovate all dilapidated schools to provide a conducive learning environment for the Ghanaian and African child.”
He also asserted that the situation of poor sanitary conditions in our schools, is an epidemic problem.
The foundation believes that the government can not do it alone. It is time to accept the fact.
“Every piece of evidence shows the government can not do it alone therefore it is incumbent on every Ghanaian to contribute a quota to support the government in the provision of a cleaner and safer school environment.
We are reaching out to everyone to support or #AdoptAschool to build a cleaner environment for them.”
