Founder of Peace Watch Ghana Madam Nyonkopa Daniels has said the public will be the best judges of the work of retired DCOP Samuel Kwasi Ofori.
The peace ambassador stated that for everything, there is a beginning and an end. Therefore, public servants must be guided by what they do so that when they retire, their works will follow them.
She was responding to what she felt about the service of retired DCOP Kwasi Ofori who retired from the service on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, after 35 years of service to the Ghana Police .
Madam Nyonkopa Daniels noted that as public officers, we are to serve the people with dignity, decency, honour, and respect for fundamental rights.
“Without these values, the people will not respect you. They will treat you with disdain especially when you retire and become a civilian just like them.”
She asked police officers to be reminded of the day of their retirement and be of good character.
She added that if he behaved well, it will show how the public will relate to him as an ex-police officer. If he misbehaved and was of bad character, they will not regard him. Society will celebrate him if he was of good character and integrity during his days with the police.”
