The Minority, through its leader, Haruna Iddrisu, has expressed its displeasure for the omission of the name of the late former President, Evans John Atta-Mills, on the bust erected in his name.
The leader said they and the family of the late president were surprised to see the name of President Akufo-Addo and the chief executive officer of Atta-Mills memorial institute, Koku Anyidaho on the bust instead of the late President, Evan John Fiifi Atta-Mills.
He has therefore called on the President and others who erected the bust, with immediate effect change the inscriptions and replace it with the name of the late former President Evans John Atta-Mills and a brief history about him.
”This morning’s press conference is to demand of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his associates, such as Koku Anyidoho, to do what is right and appropriate and to remind them that the Office of the former President is an institutional office. It goes beyond the persona of John Evans Atta-Mills.”
He described the bust as disappointing and wondered why the bust had the name of the President and the CEO of the Attas-Mills Institute.
He said the Minority find it incredibly unacceptable and offensive.
To Ghanaians he said ”Whilst we urge Ghanaians, even persons in public life, to learn from the Mills example, at least if for nothing, his punctuality. And additionally, his austerity in terms of protecting the public purse”.
