The National Communications Authority has denied media reports that it blocked the sale of Vodafone Ghana’s to the Telecel group.
It stated in a statement that the claim is false and should be disregarded as such.
The statement revealed that the NCA in January this year received an application asking for a 70% share of the company to be transferred to the Telecel Group.
It said by due process, the NCA evaluated the application on various criteria and engaged both companies.
But after an evaluation, the NCA concluded the request did not meet the regulatory threshold for approval to be granted.
