August The Northern region is set to witness one of its biggest demonstrations as a coalition of youth groups in the five regions, of the north will be converging at the northern regional capital, Tamale to stage the demonstration.
The protest is dubbed ‘Miisim demonstration’ meaning ‘Hardship’ demonstration and it is slated for August 20, 2022.
Abdul Salam, an organiser of the demonstration said: “there is no political reason for this upcoming demonstration, but instead the unprecedented hardship in this country has caused us to organize this demonstration to let the president know that the situation is unbearable.”
He added that ”for the first time, foodstuffsand livestock are expensive rather in the northern sector where they are produced as compared to the southern sector.
He called on all Ghanaians to come out on August 20, 2022, to support the protest, which he believes will be the beginning of a turnaround to positivity in the lives of Ghanaians.
