The Electricity Company of Ghana has stated that the company has a social media strategy and policy in place to support the development of its online presence.
Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, the General Manager in charge of external communications at ECG, disclosed that the company had begun the process to make them efficient when speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.
He admitted that several measures had been taken, particularly on social media, to stop fraud. He said this to host Kwabena Agyapong.
He explained that Ghanaians would soon see some of these policies manifesting.
He admitted some individuals are using social media to dupe people, and that is something the company is working to resolve.
”That is why we have planned to put in place these measures to ensure that for all our customers under the general public if you want anything from ECG, you should be able to identify the places to go to.”
He advised the public to make good use of the district offices when they need services from the ECG.
”If you don’t understand anything or you are confused about something, just go to your district offices and speak to them. Don’t just accept anything that comes to you.”
