Akufo-Addo, a young boy, drowned in a stream at Abura Nkwanta in the Central region’s Mfantseman municipality.
Akufo-Addo, 16, went fishing with his two other young boys at the community’s stream known as (Brafor).
According to the boys, Akufo-Addo claimed to be able to swim and described the river as a small one.
“I can swim this small river, I can swim the sea, and I can swim this small river,” they claimed.
According to them, after Akufo-Addo said this, he quickly removed his clothes and dove into the stream, where he couldn’t get out for about 30 minutes.
His friends screamed and cried for help. Kwesi Amfoh, a member of the area’s Unit Committee, explained more to the media.
Okyeame Okanto of Abura Nkwanta performed the rituals in the name of Ebusuapanyin Tony, and he also narrated that when he returned from the farm, he was told that someone had drowned in the Brafor stream.
Finally, the deceased’s father, Kobina Donkoh, stated that he was at work when someone informed him that his son had drowned.
