Members of the Ghana Private Roads and Transport Union (G.P.R.T.U.) Greater Accra Region swore in a six-(6) member executive of its branch at Mallam Junction, who will steer the Union’s affairs.
Mr Saddick Abubakar and Mr Oscar were appointed as branch chairman and vice chairman, respectively, while Hon Clement Adjei and Mr Anderson were appointed as first and second trustees, respectively.
During the inaugural event, Sariki Saddick Abubakar, Branch Chairman of the GPRTU Mallam Junction, urged all Branch Chairmen of the transport union to make payment of dues a habit in order to improve administrative work.
Mr Sadick Abubakar expressed gratitude to the GPRTU Regional Office and called for unity among union members.
Mr. Emmanuel Ankrah, Greater Accra regional chairman and national vice chairman of the GPRTU, urged all stakeholders to collaborate in order to reduce road fatalities in the country.
The GPRTU spokesman, Mr Abass Seidu, advised the newly appointed executives to be disciplined and to dress appropriately while on duty.
