The 60-year-old father Opanin Kwame Atta, also known as Showboy, who admitted to having sex with his three biological daughters, had a cleansing rite today at Assin Andoe in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
The chiefs and elders imposed a 12,000 fine and 5 sheep on him two weeks ago as a means of pacification and sacrifice, but he was only able to raise 8,000 in cash and begged to pay 4 sheep today owing to financial difficulties.
After the ritual at the palace, the Chief of Assin Andoe Nana Atta Banafo III, who also serves as the Adontehene for the Apimanim Traditional Council, informed Oheneba Ambrose that they will conduct two further rites at the locations where the sexual acts occurred including the farm.
This will shield the area and the offender’s family from any unfortunate events.
He warned the public to stop the practice, calling it a terrible deed that should never be tolerated in any community and an abomination in the eyes of the gods.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at Assin Akyesan, a place under the control of the Andoe Traditional Council, close to Ochiso.
One of the two young men who had previously been fined $2,400 for failing to provide evidence to support the claim that showboy had been having an affair with his daughters when the case was brought before the chief’s palace expressed his joy at being vindicated today.
