The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched an anti-robbery operation in order to apprehend two robbers who attacked two families in a house in the Ashanti Region’s Abuakwa.
The victims told police that the robbers were armed with machetes and robbed them of valuables before fleeing with one of the house’s female residents.
The victims reported hearing an unusual noise at their house’s main gate around 01:15 a.m. They came out to see what was going on, and two men wielding machetes suddenly appeared, pushed them back into their rooms, and took an unspecified amount of money and four mobile phones from them.
According to the police statement, they are working around the clock to rescue the victim and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“Whilst we do this, we wish to entreat the public to be security conscious at all times and avoid doing things that make them vulnerable to attacks,” the police said.
