A pressure group called Arise Ghana has given President Akufo-Addo a 48-hour deadline to fire Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
The group also wants him arrested and prosecuted because, in their opinion, he has caused a financial disaster.
They claim that the minister has ruined the country’s economy.
Mensah Thompson, a leading member of Arise Ghana, stated, “We are also giving President Akufo-Addo a 48-hour ultimatum to terminate Ken Ofori-appointment.” Atta’s We are not only calling for his dismissal, but also for the immediate arrest of Ken Ofori-Atta as Finance Minister for the financial mess he has caused for this country.
He went on to say that many of the reasons they want him fired and arrested are due to a conflict of interest and fiscal irresponsibility that has driven the country’s economy into a ditch.
