A statement issued by the Forestry Commission, has confirmed that a lion at the Accra Zoo attacked and killed a middle-aged man.
The deceased, according to the statement, jumped the security fence and entered the Zoo’s lion enclosure.
The intruder’s motivation has yet to be determined, according to the statement.
The statement said one of the lions attacked and injured the intruder within the enclosure’s inner fencing.
The intruder has been pronounced dead as a result of his injuries, and his body has been transported to the morgue, the statement added.
