Former President John Dramani Mahama has promised to include chiefs and traditional leaders in Abeadze in the NDC’s next government in order to transform the area.

Speaking at the 25th Anniversary and Celebration of the Abeadze Domenasi Ahobaakese Festival at Abeadze Domenasi in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, he stated that he remains committed to transforming the area with the support of the chiefs and traditional leadership.

He appealed to the Chiefs to promote peace and security since it was the first law of development for every country.

”A community without unity and peace jeopardizes its chance of sustainably improving the lives of its people,” he said.

As a result, he admonished the chiefs and people to strive for peace in their communities not just through words but also through actions.

He also commended the Chief of the area for his contributions to the development of the country.

”We are one people with a common purpose and a common identity. We’re one people with a common destiny. Let us unite collectively to address the many challenges that we are faced with as a nation. In highlighting the importance of peace and unity towards our development as a country, it is hard for one to overstate the contributions of His Royal Majesty Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII to the development of our country, Ghana. He has served with great admiration in the Central Regional House of Chiefs. He has also served as the Chairman of the Board of the Electricity Company of Ghana and served as the Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, and his service in these roles has been a defining feature of the Central Region and the entire nation.”

According to him, he is honouring a man who exemplifies selfless and dedicated leadership, a man who is now a brother and a friend and wishes to thank him for his wise counsel to him [Mahama] while he was in office as vice president and president, as well as as a former president.

The Chief, for his part, has promised to promote peace and stability in the region and the country.

According to him, chiefs must serve, be selfless and be accountable to the people.

He also promised to seek development for his people and further asked his people to support him in any way they could.
