The Accra Technical University has been cited for some infractions in the 2021 Auditor-General’s report.
The report discovered that 22 programmes run by the school had their accreditation certificates expired for the period ranging from March 2019 to December 31, 2021.
The Auditor-General has recommended to management that they expedite action in getting accreditations for all courses renewed without further delay.
The audit further disclosed that the university had no legal title to the Kinbu campus and cantonment lands which were acquired in 1960.
The management was urged to ensure that legal titles to these parcels of land are secured as early as possible by liaising with the appropriate state agencies.
Furthermore, the report noted that a 32-capacity guest house and a four-capacity lodge were not fully utilized even though the university renovated 22 rooms out of the 32-capacity guest house at a cost of GHc 171, 258.84 during the period under review.
The report recommended to Management take urgent steps to resolve all issues to ensure full utilization of the facility.
