A 45-year-old woman who had been missing for three days was found alive at Enyan Asempanyin in the Central Region’s Ajumako Enyan Essiam district.
Some people who were attending to nature’s call discovered the victim in a pit latrine.
According to Nana Nyarko Bilson II, Nkosuohen of Enyan Nkodwo, their attention was drawn by some residents attending nature’s call in the early hours of Tuesday when they suspected that someone was trapped in the pit.
Following this, they sought assistance to assist in her rescue, which required the combined efforts of Ghana National Fire Service personnel and rescuers to drag her out of the pit.
The victim was rescued unharmed but weak, and doctors at Ajumako Hospital have confirmed her fitness while an investigation is underway.
