Asaki Samson Awingobit, a presidential candidate hopeful in the People’s National Convention, has advised the party to hold internal primaries as soon as possible.
He said that the PNC should be able to organize internal polls that will lead to the process of selecting a flagbearer.
He stated that if the major political parties have ward, constituency, regional, and national elections, and some are about to organize constituency elections, what are the minority parties doing?
”What are we the minority parties waiting for if the major parties have organized their elections? We are supposed to organize our internal elections. They are long overdue.”
Meanwhile, he has hinted that he would contest as flagbearer should the nominations open.
The businessman, currently President of the Importers and Exporters Association, says he is more than qualified because he has conducted himself well.
He said he has marketed himself adequately well and will definitely contest.
”If the party gives us the green light, I will contest,” he stressed.
