The National Identification Authority (NIA) has reacted to reports that Chinese National Aisha Huang registered for the Ghana card.
The NIA in a statement denied registering any applicant by the name of Aisha Huang.
It said the Identity Register (NIR) does not contain any record of a person named AISHA HUANG.
“Put differently, the name AISHA HUANG does not exist in the National Identification System (NIS) database”, the NIA said in a statement dated September 6, 2022.
After she was re-arrested, it emerged that she has been carrying what is suspected to be a Ghana Card.
Details on the card showed that the suspect was given the card in February 2022.
The card was labeled as a Non Citizen Identity Card has the date of issue as February 27, 2022 and expected to expire on February 26, 2023.
It has her name as En Huang on it and it was found in her possession when she was arrested.
