Issa Mohammed, a young man, has described how his drug addiction caused him to waste over $200,000 on various drugs in order to satisfy his addiction.
Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Issa Mohammed said he sold his cars and other vehicles, which his mother bought for him to operate as Uber.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that he was going to clubs, spending on drugs, and chilling with friends.
Issa Mohammed stated that he became enemies with his junior brother because he began stealing from him, including money and electronic gadgets, among other things, to satisfy his cravings.
He claimed he became a “ghetto boy,” left home, and began stealing.
“I became a thief to satisfy my drug addiction.” I began stealing people’s phones, money, and other valuables. After stealing from people, we sometimes take their money pins and steal from mobile money wallets. When I think back on these experiences. I started crying and felt pain in my heart. “I want to apologize to everyone I’ve hurt,” he added.
In a tearful tone, he stated, “drug addiction will ruin your life.” It would annihilate you. Do not engage in drugs. I’ve been there before. I’ve had bad experiences with drugs, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, especially young people.
He also stated that he sold his Mercedes Ben, which he purchased for 1.1 billion, for Ghc65,000 all because of drugs and debts he owed people as a result of drugs.
He also indicated that his junior brother was the one who told the mother that he was into drugs.
He told the host he lied to his mother about circumstances leading to the sale of his car and lied to her to buy her car for Uber, but he sold it.
He also stated that his mother threatened to disown him because of his drug addiction.
He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the Chosen Rehab Centre and has described his experience thus far as positive.
”I think at this point, I want to end my narration because I am becoming teary, and when I remember the things I had done through drugs, I become sad and regret what I had done. Drugs messed up my life, but I am going through rehab now. It is not an experience I wish for anyone. I am appealing to the youth to desist from drugs. It is not a good experience.”
