Chief of Mesidan in the Techiman North District of Bono East Region, Nana Kwasi Twi Brempong II, has directed the Headmaster of Mesidan D/A Primary School, Mr. Ebenezer Tinsaare, to ensure that one teacher, Mr. Harunah, cleans, fumigates, and paints the entire school building before the school re-opens on September 13th, 2022.
This punishment was imposed as a result of a video taken at Mesidan Primary School that went viral on social media, in which Mr. Haruna secretly converted the D/A Primary School premises into a place where he kept his animal feeds (leftover food, cassava leaves, grass, and other items to feed his animals) while the children were on vacation.
In an interview, Nana Yaw Yeboah, the Okyeame of Mesidan, confirmed the heinous incident, saying, “What the Headmaster and the Teacher did was an eyesore and posed dangerous health threats to the children and staff of the school.”
Okyeame Yaw Yeboah revealed that it was because of this heinous act, for which the Headmaster and Teacher were summoned and admitted guilt, that Nananom ordered them to keep the school premises clean and conducive to teaching and learning activities.
The teachers were once again ordered to remove their goats and cattle from the school grounds and were warned not to keep their domestic animals on the school grounds.
