Aisha Huang: You’re either dishonest or not in charge of the country- MP to Prez

September 13, 2022

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South believes President Akufo-Addo is not in charge as the nation’s Commander-in-Chief.

The legislator believes that the President’s admission that he was not certain Aisha Huang, the Chinese galamsey kingpin, was deported, has revealed that he was not in charge of the situation.

He implied that the President is either dishonest or he is not in charge of the state’s affairs.

President Akufo-Addo stated that he was unsure whether the Chinese national had been deported.

“I’m not still sure whether she (Aisha Huang) was in fact deported or whether she fled the country the first time, and has now come back”, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said

President Akufo-Addo said on Monday (September 12, 2022) in a radio interview with Stone City in the Volta Region, “…but whatever, there still seem to be some uncertainty about it, but whichever way it is, she has become some sort of nickname for all that galamsey represents and, unfortunately, for the involvement of Chinese nationals in Ghana.”

In response to the issue, the lawmaker maintained that an independent investigation was required due to the controversies surrounding the matter.

According to him, all of the country’s security heads must answer several questions.

When a sitting President, Commander-In-Chief, is uncertain as to whether or not a criminal was deported from a nation he leads, it implies that he is not in charge, or is being dishonest. This is not just embarrassing but dangerous.

The Ministers in charge of Interior, Foreign Affairs, National Security and heads of agencies like CID, NIB, NIA have questions to answer.

The Aisha Huang case requires an independent public inquiry in the national interest. We can’t trust NADAA, his appointees and the heads of agencies, who are complicit in this Aisha Huang matter to deal with it.

The call for an independent public inquiry is further justified by NADAA’S comments.
