It was disrespectful for the crowd to boo at the Prez but… Political Analyst

September 26, 2022

Mr. Boakye Yiadom, a political analyst, believes that the crowd at the Global Citizen Event was disrespectful to President Akufo-Addo.

He explained that what happened at the event was not ideal and cast a negative light on the country.

The analyst said ”whatever the case may be, he would not support the crowd because what they did was disrespectful and against our cultural values. It was disrespectful and not the best”.

He acknowledged that Ghanaians were experiencing hardship, but that does not justify a section of the audience booing him.

”We are all aware that the country is experiencing an economic crisis. The world is also experiencing hardship, but it was disrespectful for the crowd to have done that. That is not how the youth of Africa is trained to behave. Those who did that must bow their heads in shame.”

He explained that the crowd could have used a demonstration to express their concerns, but booing at the president was beneath the belt.

Meanwhile, he has advised the President and his appointees to take note of this and address the people’s concerns.

“I would appeal to our leaders to implement measures to alleviate Ghanaians’ economic hardship. People are suffering, and the price increases in goods are concerning. You buy something today and return the next day to find that the price has risen.”

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5fm, he stated that the majority of Ghanaian politicians are not dedicated and committed, but rather concerned with their own and their relatives’ personal growth.

He stated that our leaders are not interested in maintaining a stable economy, building good roads, or providing better opportunities for the people. They are only concerned with amassing wealth and transferring it to offshore accounts. They are only concerned with themselves.”
