Teachers and students at Wassa Agave D/A Basic School in the Western region’s Wassa East district have expressed concern about the splashing of human excreta on students’ desks and the floor in one of their classrooms.
After returning from a school break, the students and teachers encountered the scene in the classroom.
Mr. Oscar Kyei-Donkor, the school’s headteacher, recalled that it is customary to conduct a cleanup exercise in the school on the first day of vacation to keep the school environment clean and healthy before teaching and learning begins.
During the cleanup exercise, they discovered that the entire class two room is soiled with human excrement.
The chief of Wassa Agave, Togbe Agya Atta III, described those who use classrooms as a place of defecation as witches and wizards.
Mr. Francis Adjorlolo, PTA chairman of Agave D/A Basic School, also revealed that this is the third time such a disparaging occurrence has occurred in the school.
As a result, they have demanded that authorities intervene and bring the offenders to justice because their actions are interfering with teaching and learning.
