The Member of Parliament for Builsa South has slammed MP for Asokwa K.T Hammond for describing the booing of President Akufo-Addo as scandalous and undemocratic.
According to Kobina Tahir Hammond, the incident was humiliating and undemocratic.
There are better ways for Ghanaians to express their displeasure with the President, he claims.
He claimed that a bad precedent had been set in the country’s history.
The legislator insisted that, while Ghanaians are experiencing severe economic hardship, the situation does not justify such unjust treatment of the President.
However, in response to the issue, Dr. Apaak stated that what is scandalous is that the current president is flying luxurious jets despite the economic hardship we are experiencing.
This, he claims, occurs when children are fed less than Ghc1.
He asserted that what is undemocratic about this administration is that the government is spending millions of taxpayer dollars on a cathedral despite opposition.
Tell K.T that what is scandalous is flying in luxury jets while feeding children at 97p per day, and what is undemocratic is investing several millions of taxpayers’ money in a cathedral project without parliamentary approval!”
He has therefore asked the president to focus on using the embarrassing moment to take stock of his poor leadership and accept his mistakes and deal with them.
He maintained that it would be silly for anyone to blame the NDC for the vote of no confidence the participants had against the president.
