Following a downpour on Sunday, major roads leading to the Eastern regional capital Koforidua were severely flooded.
The Effiduase traffic light stretch of the Koforidua-Bunso highway, the Abrewankwanta stretch of the Koforidua-Suhum highway, the Okorase portion of the Koforidua-Mamfe Highway, and the Akwadum portion of the Koforidua-Suhum Highway were all flooded.
The floods halted vehicular movement for several hours, causing gridlock until the flood waters receded around 9:00 p.m.
