The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has backed the call for a review of the free senior high school policy.
Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah stated on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline, “I am in support of a review of free SHS.”
He also stated that several parents support free SHS, and that the government will consult with stakeholders on the best way to review the policy.
In his opinion, reviewing the free SHS policy is not as defeatist as some make it out to be.
”Ghanaians believe in the free SHS. But they know the situation and could agree to support in some areas. So I am in support of a positive review of the policy,” she emphasised.
When asked if he would also support calls for the boarding aspect of the policy to be scrapped, he said the positive review of the policy would look at all these things.
