Bright Oduro, former Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), has revealed that the key suspect in the murder of JB Danquah Adu Daniel Asiedu aka Sexy Dondon confided in someone that an influential member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) knew about the MP’s death.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline, he stated that the suspect was not forthcoming with information when he was the CID boss, and that the suspect was not reliable or consistent with the information, so he had to use an unconventional but legal means to extract the information from him.
He revealed the suspect later confided in someone and told the person that an influential NPP member knew something about the MP’s death.
Mr. Oduro stated that he intended to question the information further but was unable to do so because that was the time he was asked to leave.
“The information I received was that someone closer to the party knew something about the death,” he explained. We wanted to dig deeper and identify the person, but we couldn’t even find the person’s name. We only found out that the person was somewhere in Adeiso and was frequently visiting Koforidua. We followed up but were unable to locate the individual.”
He went on to say that if he had spent more time with Sexy Dondon, he would have been able to dig deeper and learn more from the suspect.
